I’m Benjamin Norman and thanks for visiting my site. I started working with the web in 2006, as I joined the University of Huddersfield to for take in a 2 year foundation degree in ICT, with the option of a 3rd year to begin this October, to gain a full honours degree. Within a month of me beginning at the University I got a part time job as a web developer, at a Hebden Bridge based Web Firm named KUDOS. I spent around 14 months working part-time for the business, alongside my University course, working on many sites as part of a successful team. I worked for KUDOS for 15 months, it was invaluable experience, not only did it provide me with a step onto the ladder for a career in IT, but also it provided me with true business accruement, allowing me to learn the day to day workings of an IT business.

In May 2009 I joined Swift Blinds & Curtains as their Content Developer. My roles within the business include all design work (advertising, site design, company documentation) and also marketing (Google Adwords, E-mail Campaigns). My main task so far has been to design two new sites, which act as wholly owned internet only brands of Swift Blinds and Curtains. SIXFABRICS.COM was released on the 27th of July and work has now begun on our next project, which will be even bigger then SIXFABRICS.COM.

Prior to joining Swift I concentrated more on the development and coding side of the computer sector, but since my arrival at the company I have found a real enjoyment in the design elements, leading me to believe design is now the career path which I now wish to follow.
